Starting off with a bit of an old classic. An interesting fact about this shot: this was only supposed to be a test to see if I could actually get the popcorn to burst on the hotplate using only a washer filled with a little canola oil. Of course it did indeed work and managed to shoot straight up and the hull broke in mid air instead of instantly (which by my account is a bit rare). I refined the lighting and tried pop after pop to get the same effect with a better light but the popcorn just would not cooperate in the same way!
